Let's Think of the Male Community too.

In this world where everyone is talking about feminism, I intend to talk around what goes on being a guy in the country.

I was around 8 years old when I fell down from the middle berth of a train and got hurt. I was crying and crying so loudly that I acted as an alarm clock for the entire coach. My mom was tensed and checking if I was hurt. People around were starring and then came a few very sweet aunties. They sat near me and started talking. In an attempt for them to make me quiet all of them repeated "Tum ladke ho na.. ladke thodi na rote hai.. chalo bas karo..ladke bano.. Ladke to strong heat hai" (You are a guy and guys don't cry.. Stop it now and be a guy.. Guys have to be strong). Surprisingly, I
Got quiet and slept back easily after that. At the age of 8, I was told boys don't cry. Just like A for apple was fixed in my mind, this too got fixed. Even today people are preaching the same. Every guy who lives here now knows he is not allowed to show his emotions on the outside. He cannot express them because BOYS DO NOT CRY. If they do, the joke is on them.

Since a few years, after crimes against women have increased, all men are looked upon with doubt. Be it 12 noon or 12 midnight, If a girl sees a guy walking behind her because co-incidentally, his house is in the same lane as hers, she will still look at him with a doubtful eye. All men are not criminals. There are men who care and respect women and we would certainly not want to be doubted on every nook and corner.

Being a Man is a tough job here. At 28, a girl would expect the guy to have his own house and car and every luxury to marry him. By Birth its the responsibility of the boy to be protective, whether or not he knows anything about protection. A guy cannot walk back being scared or else he is trolled upon by others. A boy has to face every goon, every thug no matter what the issue is, he can never back down. If he has everything mentioned above, the guy should be smart, handsome, talented, single, caring, loving, sophisticated, ambitious, idealistic, non-comparable, hot, dashing, star like, awesome, funny, happy, satisfied, comfortable, helpful, rich enough and the guy should listen to the women, help her with the household chores, should keep the beard as per the wish of the girl, should cut hair as the woman wishes etc. ... And only if he satisfies all of it, chances are some girl would marry him.

It's not the fault of anyone in particular. The society has been made this way. But don't we think it's a little too much to expect so much from a single person, having a single soul like everyone. Even a washing machine does not have so many features an ideal guy is expected to have as per society standards. Ladies, stop looking for a guy who is an idea, look for someone with whom you can make your life ideal. It is time we think a little about the male community too because

"MARD KO DARD HOTA HAI"
